Not sure where I post this

    Good evening, everyone!

I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself. I’m new here and still learning to navigate the site and everything that comes with being part of this amazing community.

Life has been a bit hectic lately. I’ve been working massive hours at a new job, but I’m really looking forward to things settling down so I can find a better rhythm and dive deeper into my practice.

Today, I recorded my Siu Nim Tau practice and wanted to share them with you all. I’m always open to feedback and would love to connect with others on this journey.

Thanks for having me here. I’m excited to grow and learn with you all!

It looks like you are really focused and everything is fundamentally there.

I think when you bring your hands from behind your back you are to lock out your elbows before proceeding into a mut, two distinct movements. It seemed like you did it all in one motion. In general, try to be distinct.

I wish the video provided a better perspective to see your ting yu and spinal structure, but they seemed really good.

A few notes on the section below. On Tan and Wu try not to cup your hand. Practice keeping it as straight as possible with thumb tucked tight. It takes time so work on stretches to get there. Also when you come back to Wu, don’t bring it all the way back into your chest. You should only go as far back in as you can keep your lat engaged. You can practice pressing against your Wu with your other hand. When you lose lat engagement, you’ve gone too far. Hope this helps.

    LEFT HAND
Tan comes out, Around to Jum, Back to Wu
1st Fook, Jum, Wu, 2nd Fook, Jum, Wu, 3rd Fook, Jum, Wu
Pak, Palm, Down, Up, Around & Back

Constructive Criticism. Your Stance seems a bit too Wide

Practice Tighter Mok Lk. Eyes seem to be wandering it’s difficult not to not look at your Hands , LOOK IN the Mirror and keep head still.

I would Slow down the Movements, until you can do the sequence without any Hesitation

Connect thumbs behind Back. Relax hands more , Sifu always says on fooks no hand keep it completely relaxed.Keep at it and you will get it, Many Repetitions , Your Brain starts to have Muscle Memory You seem to have Discipline which is the idea of Strong Practice.. Japanese word is Kaizen which means Small Improvements Everyday Result of one year of consistent Practice will Yield a 37% Improvement

Thank you for sharing. I know it can scary, I know I am at times. Like the others said, just relax and breathe. Enjoy it. I must have watched the videos in the intranet hundreds of times and I still watch them now.

Welcome to the Kung Fu family. Looks like you are definitely focusing on the details. I myself have gone through Chum Ku, but decided to go back to work out more details in SNT to improve my Kung Fu. One of the things I am working on are the fine details of getting into and remaining in the horse. I am still working on not bouncing while getting into my horse. I’m getting better but not where I think I should be.

I like your idea of recording yourself and I think I will do that as well.

Thanks for the feedback! I have no one person where I work at or anyone that I kmow that is interested in training. It is kind of sad there is nobody around that shares my live for martial arts.
