Trust and Belief

All too often, students start to doubt themselves or the path they’re on here. They begin to think they can’t do it, it’s taking too long, or they find some other justification for their doubt.

When someone starts feeling that way, it usually means they’ve stopped trusting… trusting the process, trusting themselves, and trusting the people who believe in them.

Doubt is sneaky. It disguises itself as “being realistic.” It convinces you to give up by calling quitting something else. But what it’s really doing is depriving you of what’s possible.

Here’s the truth: the only way to fail here is to quit.
Because when you quit, you’re quitting on yourself. Whatever justification you use doesn’t change that reality.

I created The Dragon Institute and built our family based on trust and belief… trust and belief in myself, in this journey, and in my students. I know full well how difficult this path is. But my trust and belief are stronger.

To truly call yourself a Dragon Family member, your trust and belief must be stronger than the difficulty of this journey.

Sifu, I agree completely with your statement about giving up on yourself. I have faced that many times in my life, and the only times it really hurt was when I quit and didn’t stay with what I was doing. The times I stayed with the task I completed it and Felt great.

    Thank You for that.

Something we need to keep in mind here is that this is a journey. There is no deadline. Who knows where this path will take us. Be in the moment and go with it. Didn’t practice today? (Oh yeah, that life thing happened today). It’s okay. Try again tomorrow. Struggled remembering then “next move”? Be kind to yourself. Relax! Enjoy the process and try again. Enjoy the journey. There is no timeline here. Do the best you can. Be kind to yourself. Love life and all it has to offer. That’s all anyone can ask!
