Dummy 10, 20 and 30

Hi, I just started learning the dummy and was wondering once I master 10, then I start on 20. With that said does 20 start all over like in the video to square up or does it flow into it right after set 10? So when your finished you will have one smooth flow from 10 to 20 to 30?

    Hi Blain,

Yes, they flow into each other. The sets finish in Kim Yeung Mah and Jiu Ying, but you don’t measure up again, you flow into the next set.

Something else to note, you may have to adjust your distance when transitioning between sets by scooting your feet in or back, but not leaning forward to reach, use your feet. Also as with everything in Wing Chun you will always be in a constant state of refinement. Sifu will tell you that you never master anything, you are always refining as there are so many layers to it. When practicing the dummy you don’t necessarily have to flow to the next set, while they do flow together, when practicing and refining you can reset, measure up, and slow down. I’m still a novice so I’m not trying to teach here, just passing on details I’ve learned from Sifu thus far. Happy training!
