Origins of our Qigong / Tai Chi Approach

Our San Clemente / Dana Point Tai Chi / Qigong practice is based largely on the internal principles of the traditional Chinese Taoist internal arts. Our Tai Chi / Qigong incorporate movements and energy work from Tai Chi’s Chen Village – the oldest known family of Tai Chi. Other influences include the soft, energetic elements hidden within a internal, soft approach to the art of Wing Chun (AKA Yong Chun Chuan).

Our Tai Chi / Qigong is non-combative. It works to unify the traditional internal principles of body alignment with a philosophy that embodies the inherent connection between ourselves and the environment.

Tai Chi vs. Qigong

Tai Chi is actually a martial art which includes fighting movements. Qigong is not a martial art and doesn’t include any fighting movements. Qigong translates as energy work. Our Tai Chi / Qigong classes include Tai Chi concepts and movements but there is no fighting aspects. Therefore, it should more technically be referred to as Qigong (Chi Kung).
